In the west end of Winnipeg is Technical Vocational High School, which is known as a Tec Voc. Tec Voc offers various Academic courses that will let students gain the requirements to enter post-secondary education. Tec Voc was founded in 1951 by the Winnipeg School Division.
Learners at Technical Vocational High School can earn a Vocational Diploma and an Academic Diploma. Principal:Technical Vocational High School's primary goal has always been to ensure that all students get the education that will best adapt them for the world of work and life opportunities. Since it opened in 1951, Technical Vocational High School's curriculum, which combines vocational training with related academics, has reflected modern society's changing needs. Its architectural design and materials meant Tec Voc was the height of modernity in 1951. Over the years, attempts have been made to maintain the original design's best while upgrading the facility. Architect W. A. Martin combined two significant 20th-century architectural styles: Art Deco and Art Moderne. Of all his school designs, Tec Voc is Martin's crowning achievement. Carved in limestone over a Tec Voc side entrance are these words: "Knowledge without practice makes but half an artist."
Principal: Dennis Mogg

Tips for Studying More Effectively
Some students find that they work best in a calm, quiet environment and, once they find one, they stick to it. But recent research shows that alternating study spaces may help you to retain information for longer. Try changing up your study space a few times a week to see if this tactic works for you! In addition to reviewing your notes, you may also want to highlight them as you make your review. Highlight important concepts and facts so you can easily focus on those areas when you go back through to study. You may even find that rewriting your notes is helpful for remembering the material!
